Traditional Pol Sambol
Classic Sri Lankan coconut sambol made with dried sprats - a perfect accompaniment for rice and hoppers.
🥄 Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh coconut (grated)
- 2 tbsp Dried Sprats
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp lime juice
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp chilli flakes

📋 Instructions

Dry roast the dried sprats in a pan for 2-3 minutes until crispy, then crush lightly.

Combine grated coconut, crushed sprats, green chillies and onion in a bowl.

Add lime juice and mix well with your hand or a spoon.

Season with salt and chilli flakes to taste.

Serve fresh with rice, string hoppers or roti.
